A home detox to protect your family and return to a safer, more natural way of living!

Spring is the perfect time to for a home detox to shed toxicity, rebalance and return to a more natural way of living. May is also Multiple Chemical Sensitivity Awareness MonthJoin me on the blog this month as I share some of the key steps you can take to detox your home, workplace, body and environment!

Multiple Chemical Sensitivities

Multiple chemical sensitivities affects over 48 million people, resulting in a variety of  symptoms and impacts which can significantly impact one’s quality of life.

When the immune system of a sensitive individual is faced with toxic chemicals, fragrances, fumes or other substances, it can react as with they are a foreign invader, resulting in a wide variety of symptoms in response to many substances. This can range from headaches, allergic responses and irritated eyes to life-threatening anaphylaxis and seizures.

People with multiple chemical sensitivities react to harmful chemicals as well as substances that may not seem noxious to others or very low amounts of substances

So many of my clients are impacted by the chemicals, allergies, metabolic and hormone imbalances, autoimmune disease and other sensitivities. Living a clean, non-toxic lifestyle and taking steps for a home detox are key components of The Simple Pure Whole Wellness Solution since it can improve and protect your health in so many ways.

Cleansing your environment involves taking simple steps to reduce your exposure to chemicals. A Home detox involves finding solutions for pure water, food, cleaning supplies and personal care products.  Over time, this will also help cleanse your body, rebalance your hormones, weight and blood sugar, improve your energy and focus and prevent future disease!

Signs your environment may be making you sick and it is time for a home detox include:

  • allergies

  • autoimmune issue

  • sinus problems

  • metabolic imbalances

  • headache

  • fatigue

  • irritation of eyes, nose or throat

In our everyday lives we are bombarded with toxins and chemicals in the water we drink and bathe in, the food we eat and the air we breathe. When the body is overwhelmed with toxins, it cannot properly perform its functions, produce appropriate levels of hormones or digest our food.

Chemicals in common products which we use every day and in our environments are linked to rising rates of diseases including obesity, diabetes, thyroid diseases, behavioral problems, cancers and more.

Do you or your children suffer from allergies, autoimmune issues, sinus problems, metabolic imbalances, headaches, fatigue or other health issues? Many common and debilitating health issues can be linked to the quality of the air, water and other substances inside of our homes.

Follow along on the blog this month as I share some of the key steps you can take for a home detox! Learn about the ways in which chemicals impact our health and become empowered with tools to take action! Start with these simple steps for a home detox to live a more natural life.

To get started, try these Simple Pure Whole Solutions for a home detox and take action:

Stop Using Air-Fresheners, Synthetic Fragrances and Chemical Cleaning Supplies

If you are making only one shift towards a healthy lifestyle, cutting out synthetic fragrances is a great choice. In 2010, the International Fragrance Association released a master list of more than 3,100 chemicals that are used by most manufacturers including carcinogens, endocrine disruptors, reproductive toxicants and numerous allergens.  A fragrance can be made up of more than 100 chemicals which are often not listed or disclosed on a label. Harmful chemicals, including phthalates and other known endocrine-disruptors in synthetic fragrances found in cleaning supplies, personal care products and air fresheners can be quickly absorbed by the body when inhaled or in contact with the skin.

Clean pure water: detox your home, clean up your health! www.JenniferWeinbergMD.comFilter Your Water

Clean, pure water is crucial for our bodies to function optimally. Use a good water filter for drinking and bathing or opt for a  whole house filtration system if you can to avoid chemicals and contaminants.

Leave Your Shoes at the Door

Having a ‘no outdoor shoes in the house’ policy is one of the most effective ways to reduce indoor pesticide residues. When visitors enter your home, they can track in chemicals, fertilizers, lead, pollen and herbicides on their shoes. These residues can persist for years on floors and other surfaces.

Keep Dust at Bay

Household dust often contains a lot of toxicants such as flame retardants and other chemicals. Vacuum regularly with a HEPA vacuum, damp mop hard floors with simple water and wipe furniture and other surfaces with microfiber cloths or damp rags. Keep dust out of the air with regularly maintained HVAC filters and quality air purification

Wow!! I love how you explain in detail why it is so important to no use toxic chemicals in our homes. Since our daughter has Celiac and IBS, she is highly allergic to all kinds of chemicals and petroleum-based products. It never crossed my mind that these things would even effect but they definitely do cause her to have bad allergic reactions. Even spraying cologne around her gives her a headache and makes her feel terrible. This is so awesome to see someone address the area – it’s as important as our diet. I’ll be sharing this article. Thanks for posting!!

Thank you so much Rebekah! I agree that our environments can be so impactful to our health and hope your daughter is able to avoid chemicals and reactions. I understand how terrible that can be! I really appreciate you stopping by and sharing as well 🙂

Thank you Raia! Dusting seem like an never-ending project sometimes in my house but my air-cleaner helps a lot 😉 Hope you have a nice week!
